Hello Everyone,

Is one truly in Canada until one crosses into Ontario? Rhetorical question, of course. If I were to step on a scale, I'm sure my weight would be going up, as I'm getting closer to the centre of the universe, and thus center of gravity, Toronto.

Kidding aside, things are starting to feel more like home. Lichen covered granite rocks, lakes and trees, nippy weather. I'm still several European countries' worth of driving away from my destination, but it feels like I'm closer.

I ended up staying at a rest area last night. Again, all the campgrounds were closed. But it was a nice rest area, as these things go. And just like my first night, I woke up to snow on my windshield. There's a nice symmetry to that.

I know the pictures of Manitoba probably made you want to book your vacation there right away, but I'd like to present another option: northwestern Ontario in the late fall. These are from my stay at a rest area off the highway last night near Dryden. Eat your heart out, Hawaii.
