The consolation prize

Hello Everyone,
Bozeman is well set up for outdoor adventure. The trails are marked, there's lots of them, and the local community supports their upkeep. However, one of the things they do, which I think is a good idea but that burned me today is trail sharing.
In the busy summer months, they lay out a schedule for the weekends, such that bikers, hikers and horseback riders all get equal access. Unfortunately, for the last trail I wanted to do while I'm here, Saturdays are no bike days. So Arthur and I settled for second best, and went hiking.
It was a longer trail than yesterday, a little over 11 miles round trip, but was just as amazing. This trail crosses a creek several times, so you get the added bonus of either wading across and getting wet or scampering over the rocks and staying dry. I went with the first option, Arthur with the second.
At the top, after going swimming, Arthur met a young husky pup, a bit over a year old. Despite being a grumpy old man, Arthur was convinced by this ball of energy and enthusiasm to play for a bit. He even contracted a case of the zoomies from her, despite the two of them having just hiked over five miles to this lake.
It's nice to know he's got enough energy to burn on some frivolous play.

I got my gopro video uploaded to YouTube finally, here's the link.

The three photos are from the trail today, specifically the parking lot, the approach to the lake, and a damp Arthur about to shake.
