Competing views of travel

Hello Everyone,
The Willie Nelson song, On the Road Again, while sung in the plaintive style of country music, is nonetheless a positive ode to the joys of travel. An opposing view, from my perspective, is the theme sing to the former CBC show, the Littlest Hobo. While it is nominally a positive song, I was always sad when I heard it as a kid because I felt that the dog didn't have a home. He had to keep moving because he didn't belong anywhere. I feel like these competing approaches to travel described my experience at this moment in the trip. Sometimes I am excited to move on. I look forward to seeing new things and places. Adventure is just around the corner. Other times, I feel like the littlest hobo, I move on because I don't belong where I'm currently at. I have been in Nelson for a week now, and it's a lovely town. But I've hit all the trails I have wanted to ride, and after a nice walk through downtown today, there is little left for me here. I'll be moving on tomorrow. I'm excited for my next destination. The last big area I have yet to check out, as far as biking destinations in the Lower Mainland go, Rossland. But I'm also sad to be leaving. I have a good setup here, and a good routine. When I leave, I won't know where I'm going to stay, don't know if the trails are any good, don't know what the feel of the town will be. The price of freedom to go anywhere is the stress of having to find somewhere new to stay.

I haven't taken many photos the last couple of days. We didn't ride today and only did a short ride yesterday. So, here's a picture of the goofball I share the camper with.
