Hello Everyone,

I pay $0.78 (plus tax) for a refill of a gallon jug of filtered water. There is a fresh water tank in my camper but I use that for things like washing the dishes and (outdoor) showers. For awhile, I've been in the habit of keeping a couple of gallons of filtered water for drinking. With the scorching temperatures we've been getting, I go through a lot. It's not a lot of money for good clean water, and yet I find amusingly annoying that I end up wasting some of it on Arthur. It's not that I begrudge him drinking good water - he should drink his fill. It's just the opposite that bothers me. He doesn't drink it. I pour some into his dish every evening when we get set up, and end up pouring most of it out every morning when we pack up. And where, you might ask, does a black coated dog get his refreshment on these blistering hot days? From the mountain streams we cross regularly, of course. The ones that look like the images on the side of the water machines where I get my $0.78 gallons. There's one just up the road where we are staying here in Nelson, and several on every trail we ride. They are clear, cold, and probably taste like freedom. I'm not surprised that he would prefer them to the water that comes from my reused plastic jugs. But still, at this point, I've probably thrown away a dollar's worth of water from the amounts left over. Sheesh buddy, you're killing me.

Photos

The first is Arthur and I in front of a mural that is featured in the tribute video to JP Auclair. (The video is called Imagination. Seriouly, look it up.) Again, it was a thrill to be there in person. I asked this old timer to take the picture of Arthur and I, but he held his finger down on the button, which activated the busrt feature of my phone and now I literally have 145 pictures similar to this one. There's also some of me smiling and facing the camera, but I liked this one of me dealing with a recalcitrant Arthur. Feels more true to type.

The second is of Arthur at a lookout at the highest point of our ride today. Not a bad view.
