Heck, why not

Hello Everyone,
First of all, apologies for the strong language in the title. Couldn't be helped.
Now, anyone who knows me knows that flexibility, mental as well as physical is a hallmark of mine. Most noted by its absence. If God wanted us to bend, he'd have made joints that work better.
I had been planning on moving on down the road today. I've been in Fernie since the 1st, which is awhile for me. But there were some trails I had not ridden yet, so I thought I would do those in the morning then get on the road in the afternoon.
I'd have to get my act together and get moving a little earlier than I normally do. No crosswords or dilly dallying. And I'd have to stop in to town to get some groceries. And I needed new tire levers for my biking kit.
I started thinking that maybe I wouldn't do a full run on the trails, since I needed to get that other stuff done and then find a place to stay in Cranbrook. Was going to take some time.
That's when I stopped that train of thought.
I'm not on this trip so I can wake up early and hustle out the door. And I'm certainly not here to cut short my rides on sunny days. I had been so focused on the train of thought that said I needed to pack up and hit the road that I didn't step back and look at my situation. I didn't need to do any of that stuff.
If it's beautiful and I want to ride some trails, that's what I'll do. And if it means I have to stay an extra day, heck why not? Nobody is waiting on me in Cranbrook.
It was a nice realization. Rather than rush around to meet an entirely arbitrary deadline I'd set for myself, I was going to do what I'm here for. So Arthur and I hit some amazingly fun new trails, as well as a highlight from a previous ride, then we went back to the waterfall for a swim.
It's beautiful there, so why not go again?
I wonder if this kind of flexibility is what yoga feels like.
Wes
Photos:
The first is if the moose I ran across yesterday evening outside the ski resort. It could not have cared less that I was standing there taking pictures of it. I posted this photo to my Instagram account with an awesome pun. Had to be done.
The second is of a trail I did today with a really fun feature where you ride over the bridge (coming from the right side of the photo) then around and under that same bridge. Pretty clever trail building.
