A fine day of biking

Hello Everyone,

On the last day of biking for Jonny, Chris and Jason, at least for this trip, we decided to head back to Squamish and ride some greatest hits of the past week. We also cheated a bit, by taking turns shuttling the others part way up the hill in my truck, then waiting for them at the bottom.

It was a beautiful day to be outside. Sunny and hot, with the trails dry but not dusty. Given that it was also a Saturday, it's hardly surprising that parking was hard to find.

On the last run of the day, Chris was up to drive the truck, while Jonny, Jason and I rode one of our favourite trails. It was a very fun, fast, flowy trail, where you could get a lot of speed going, without too much danger.

Arthur also sat this one out. He had been limping somewhat this week, and had had to sit out a couple of days of riding. But since he seemed to be feeling better, and with the weather so hot, I brought him on some of the trails we did in the morning. By the afternoon though, he was pretty tuckered out, so he was content to chill in the truck for the last run.

Chris said that the two of them had been waiting at the bottom of the run for us for about 20 minutes or so. Arthur was in the cab of the truck, with the windows down. For the entire time, he didn't make a peep, then out of the blue let out a bark. Not 5 seconds later, I popped out of the bushes at the end of the trail.

Now, it could be a coincidence. But I like to believe that after spending so much time biking with me, Arthur knows the sound of my bike, and knew that I was approaching. It's a nice thought.
