My country, 'tis of thee

Hello Everyone,

America is a large, diverse and dynamic country, but I spent my last couple of evenings there quietly. Mostly sitting on a rocky outcropping overlooking the Pacific Ocean, reading a book about observing the world around you.

Arthur, who is often not a fan of sitting and reading, was quiet as well, and mostly spent his evenings asleep at my side. With all the biking we've been doing, he was content with that. Especially since I took him to the swimming hole again after our last ride. It's a good day for him that involves running through a forest, drinking from mountain streams and then going for a swim in a river to cool down.

Actually, that's a good day for anybody, now that I think about it.

I mention America as a whole at the top of this post because I now write to you from a living room in Vancouver, having crossed the border early in the afternoon. It too was also a quiet affair. A couple of questions about where I was from and where I was going, and then I was on my way.

The first part of my adventure so far has been a great success. I'll have more to write about it soon, but for now it's enough to say that I'm content with a quiet couple of days to end this leg. There's adventure yet to be had, but for now we'll see family, recharge and do some planning.
