Another sunny day in Sedona

Hello Everyone,

Arthur and I had a good day on the trails today. We rode one called Wagon Wheel that was a lot of fun. You know you are in a good spot when there’s basically no bad trails and they all have great views.

It was also the third day in a row where I’ve taken him out for a run. That’s pushing it a bit, though he held up great. We didn’t do as many miles as yesterday, but I think tomorrow we’ll take the day off. It will likely be a travel day as I want to head to the Mojave desert next.

Tonight will be a boondocking night. I’ll be staying just south of town on federal land, where it’s free to stay if you can get your rig there, but there are no services provided. I haven’t done a lot of that so far, so it’ll be good to see how my rig holds up. I have a fresh tank of propane, so I feel fairly confident. Like all hydrocarbons here, it’s dirt cheap to get a refill.

Tonight is also a bit of a dry run for my stay in the Mojave. I’ll only be there for a night or two, and might even stay in a bit of a primitive campground the first night, but it’s still another level up on the boondocking charts. It’s more remote, even fewer services.

Like a lot of things on this trip, I’m both looking forward to it, and nervous about it. The weather is cool enough that there won’t be any snakes around, but I’ll still be in a more inaccessible spot.

I’m hoping both that I get to take some awesome photos of the night sky, as there are no towns around to provide light pollution. And I’m hoping I don’t run out of gas as there are no gas stations in the park. Life’s all about balance.
